    Mount Kota Kinabalu

Hello everyone. After so many years.......I finally managed to visit Mt. KK once again! Ok... I didn't make it to the top or what. We just got to the foot and look and enjoy its great beauty. I am so glad I stay in such a beautiful place. The blue blue sea with white sand beach is 15mins drive away and Mt KK is so near. I am just like on vacation everyday. ( indeed I am too~)

Hi~ everyone~Long time never see my face. Ha. This is before I got scratch by that cat...Anyway there is nothing serious just kind of annoyed by that fact.

Glad that the hotel room looked comfy and warm. Hotel room rates compare to last time are now sky-high. Sigh....when will economic be good again?

After checked in to the hotel we are all so excited and can't wait to get out into the 'wild' to enjoy the cool environment. The air is fresh, the wind is cool and refreshing, the view is magnificent! I am so in love with KK. It has the right temperature, great scenery and not too rural with just enough advancement. Without too much trouble you still can find things that you need around here. Though may not be able to find some fine processed items but still can get by with it.

The little jungle walk beside the hotel.

    Lalala~~~
What we found on the way! Pine cones on the forest floor. They are so cute and perfect I can't resist take them home for decoration. Imaging Christmas in the hot summer heat. We do have sort of cooler season in Tropicals too. The rainy season where everyday rain rain rain and we get to enjoy a bit of chilliness in the air.

Pretty flowers that brighten up your day! Felt really bad we don't have enough time for more flower farm, butterfly farm visits.

We decided to wonder around and have a look at Poring Hot spring. Mistaken by the sound of the name, I always thought it is 'POURING hot spring'. Ha...It does look much better than I expected. Well organized, clean, nicely set in the deep forest. Around 1 km away from the hot spring we start to smell something like rotten egg in the air. That's the sign you are getting near a hot spring. Whenever the word hot spring came into mind always reminds me of Japan, snow and a bunch of red-faced monkeys dipping themselves in it. Haha. However the Sabah, Malaysia is kind of different from that image. For people from temperate countries with hot springs I seriously don't recommend anyone going. It is a boring hot spring not worth the time and effort but a great get-away for the locals for a change.

The CAUTION! Super hot spring that can boil and cook you alive! In Taiwan hot spring recreational areas always sell eggs for people to cook in the boiling hot spring for fun. I remembered standing on rocks with great smoke coming out from the grounds. I will post some pics on my vocation to Taiwan later. Been kind of " physically free but mentally occupied" sort of busy all this while.

My mum, auntie and grandpa taking a adventurous dip in the hot spring dipping pool. There are pools in various sizes. Some like this is a huge pool, got other smaller pools u can adjust the water temperature to ur liking. Steaming hot water pouring out so becareful!

MY feet! The water is sort of warm. Not too hot, just nice and comfy. I love it. We were so tempted to dip our whole body inside. Warm warm nice water. It was a really relaxing afternoon, enjoying the nice cool weather, lazing around the little pool. Life is a bliss. Wished we had some drinks at the side. Too bad we wasn't really prepared to dip in the hot spring. Thought of just sigh-seeing thus didn't get ready any stuff. There were lots of tourist there too, especially some hot caucasian guys with nice toned muscles. Eh... this makes me sound like some deprived sort of person. Anyway you have to admit some how they got more quality guys to stare at. Life is NOT fair.

walked around 1 hour with my aunt to reach this scenary by canopy walk through. Quite worth it after all the hard walk of brisk walking.

Pardon me this is all taken by my hp cam....quality wise so and so.

Fat squirrel at Mt KK park. Guess lots of tourist also have been feeding them. They are very friendly not shy towards strangers and will come forward to take any food u gave them. Haha.CUte little furry things.

    Entrance to the mysterious mountain.

At the bottom of Mt KK there is a little museum sort of thing that you can find out all about MT KK. The natural resource, rocks, animal, habitat, people who stay there. etc...

Grandpapa telling us this is what he had during his early hunting days in Sabah. Lots of wild animals to see.

    Birdie.

Below are a few more pictures from the musuem. Enjoy~~

Rafflesia... really rare now adays. Mum told me she had seen a real one years ago in INdonesia. Really stinky. Smell like decomposed body. Plainly: rotten smell. How amazing this world is. Such a great beautiful flower with such a smell. Weird.

    Grandpa observing some insects.

    worms and insects.
Types of rock that can be found in MT KK.

Last but not least let us enjoy the beautiful Mt. KK again. I am always so fascinated by its magnificent beauty. All of this are taken from hotel window.

Ok. I have been kind of though there is nothing much to it but I am on the move again. Tomorrow I am off to Sandakan for a 3 days 2 night trip. So see ya.....I will try to finish my post on Taiwan Trip asap too. Friends were asking....what have u been doing in Taiwan? Eat, shop, sleep and eat more. Haha..
