    Waves in Kuala Terengganu

Don't be deceived by such calm slow rolling waves. There are deeper currents and unknowns beneath the sea surface. Before we came here we were warned seriously by our elders not to go near the water. I am glad we never did. We just stood afar and enjoy the view especially during this monsoon seasons. The tides are really high.

DO NOT GO INTO THE SEA WHEN U are in Kuala Terengganu. It is very Dangerous.

    News Article:

Body of fifth drowning victim recovered

    2010/12/13

KUALA TERENGGANU: The last victim in Friday's drowning incident at Pantai Pandak Chendering was found 18km from the beach at 10.30am yesterday.
Vijaykumar and four others -- S. Kumudha, 28, her siblings Raymond, 26 and Roshini, 16, along with their friend, S. Mogan, 21, drowned in the incident, while another friend, M. Madhavi, 19, survived when she managed to cling to a rock.

This is a really sad incident. According to the local news, 15 people died in last 3 months!!! This is really a big news. Our hospital is located right beside the beach and 1 mins walk down into the sea. Quite ionic to build the hospital right beside a dangerous seaside. Just pray no more victims will be surfacing from the sea again. I strongly recommend the government to take some actions about this. For such a long stretch of sea coast, I only observed very few notices on the beach warning people off. Sigh............
