Girls, have you gotten your shot yet?

I am a great procrastinator...been delaying and delaying.... finally took the opportunity today ( no class in the evening) ran off to get my long- promised shot from Dr Wan. He is a nice guy which kind of reminds me of the father bear in the Goldie Lock. Kind of cute in the fair fair, huge warm stomach, fatherly way. ( anyway he will be getting mad at me when he is so young and I am categorizing him to the daddy/uncle section.)

I got lost along with the taxi driver, seek help from policemen who were having tea break at the side of road. Locate the place and finally got there. Everything about his clinic is the same as whatever he wrote in his blog. He even look just like what he appears in his blog too. Refer to:
    Dr Wan's Blog.

Now to the main issue here: Cervical cancer vaccination.
Cervical cancer: is malignant cancer of the cervix uteri or cervical area.

Read all about cervical cancer here

    What is cervical cancer vaccine?
The cervical cancer vaccine (also called the Human Papillomavirus or HPV vaccine) protects against the virus that causes almost all cervical cancers.

Cervical cancer affects almost 10,000 women each year in the United States. Worldwide, cervical cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death in women. The cervical cancer vaccine can save lives, and prevent the fear and the costs related to cervical cancer and abnormal Pap tests.

What’s HPV and How Do You Get It?

HPV is a family of very common viruses that cause almost all cervical cancers, plus a variety of other problems like common warts, genital warts and plantar warts. HPV also causes cancers of the vulva, vagina, anus, and cancers of the head and neck. Women and men become infected with HPV types that cause cervical cancer through sexual intercourse and sexual contact. Most women will be exposed to HPV during their lifetime.

    Further reading here.

With all the above risk factors, statistics, mortality, morbidity rates, pros and cons. I decided to get the vaccine. Have heard about for quite sometime already. In other country ( Hong Kong , Taiwan etc) it is being widely promoted around. Australia is giving as a routine shot like BCG to all the young girls age 10-14. According to some doctors in Australia they said the age is even as low as 8 years old. Vaccine is best given before the first sexual intercourse which expose the person to HPV. Which also means Australia people's age at first intercourse is super low. Anyway best age is 10-26.

Some of my friends even got it 2 years ago when the vaccine first came out not long. SO girls come get yourself protected from cervical cancer. Even those who are over 26 and older can get vaccinated too. Please consult your doctor about it and have evaluation done.

Ok. Thats me in hideous green cardigan...-_-...... which practically brighten up the whole vibrant pic with back ground. Guess I look fat ugly and old. >_<...sob sob sob. And...my stupid desk top actually do not have a blue tooth!!! Usually I send me pics through blue tooth to the pc and upload online.
The procedure: Consult and discuss with your doctor about your details. And there you go: jet.
And nothing follow by a bit of pain then sharp pain. Then aching pain for the next few hours or days ( depends on different individuals.) I know I am in for the pain for the next few days which weaker left arm. Thats why I will never let anyone draw blood from my right arm. Usually my left arm will be bruised and a bit blue-black for the next few days after drawing blood. ( No matter done by who.)
To counter my above old granny look, I bought a new bright red T with black hot pants.
Looks at my arm, it felt a bit hot. Time to peel off the plaster.

    Oh...........Pain pain...
Hope this will raise a bit of awareness among everyone around.

p/s: Dr Wan is giving a great price for the 3 dose vaccine. He is trying to help out as much as he can to reduce cervical canse.

I am not promoting DrWan's clinic or the company but is focusing on this cervical cancer. 2nd /SECOND/ No.2 Killer cancer in women around the world and Malaysia included.

I got it from Dr Wan:

    http://www.hippocrates1976.com/2009/07/step-closer-to-prevent-premature-death.html

He told me it is RM165 per dose. RM480 prepaid for 3 doses. You can refer to him and have a look into it. He wanted to help more women to prevent cervical cancer so he lowered the price a lot.
