Coca Cola Chicken.
Today I am feeling kind of down so to cheer up my mood I decided to cook something. I saw this recipe online and always wanted to try it out. so I went to market this morning and get all the ingredients ready. This portion is for around 2-3 people with normal appetite.
Ingredients:
1. 2 bottles of coca cola. ( Do not buy fake ones or use other types of soft drinks...or else I really have no idea how it taste like.)
2. Chickens: 6-10 pieces
3. 1-2 radish
4. 1-4 pieces of hard tofu
5. A handful of dry chili ( depend on your taste. if u like spicy get more.)
6. Soy sauce for saltiness ( kicap)
7. 1-2 onions
Wash and slice radish to bite size and slice up the onions.
I usually will let the chicken to swim in the boiling water for a while to take away any dirt, blood and oil. Do not leave them in boiling water for more than 5 mins. Take them out and throw away the water.
Heat wok and throw in the onions. Stir till fragrant.
Throw in chicken, tofu, radish and if u want hard boil eggs also can. Anything that u want to cook. Chinese food usually is really free style. Then last ly pour in coke and 2/3 bowl of soy sauce, if not salty enough can add more. Try get a balance of sweet and saltiness.
Then put in the dry chilies. From this u can see I am very new to cooking. I do not know how to deal with a lot of foods. Later on I found out the dry chilies actually can be slice in to half. It won't be so long like this showing in my wok.
Let the soup boil. Once boiled turn to small fire and let it simmer in wok till the soup is all dried up. It will take some time. But make sure the coke and kicap is able to cover most of the food.
lala~~Finally after 1 hour.
On the Table. My lunch: Coca Cola Chicken.
I am really amaze at the result of this dish. i simply throw in anything according to the recipe. But it turn out to be so tasty!!!
Tiffany feeling very full and sleepy...taking a nap.
