    Doggies and kitties in Taiwan

During the Hari Raya holiday I went back to Taiwan for sometime. It was a quiet holiday back home with my grandparents, cousins, uncles, aunties and friends. I just went around Taipei City and Kee Lung ( Ji Rong). Walk around have a look at the city, observe people and look out for any interesting things that's special in Taiwan.

This time I would like to introduce to my dear friends, the cute pets in Taiwan. In recent years Taiwan's low birth rate was almost top 1 in the world competiting side by side with Japan. A lot of young people nowadays prefer to have pets then babies. Though pets especially dogs are very popular and common in Taiwan streets. ( They are not stray dogs.) You can see doggies walking around the streets at all times. They are part of the Taiwan society.

What's the difference between Taiwan dogs and Malaysia dogs? Maybe due to that cultural / environment difference and how people treat the dogs, I notice a few things.
1.It is a common knowledge that Taiwan dogs know how to cross the road. You seldom hear about dogs being hit by the cars. Since young I always thought all dogs know how to cross the road. The dogs will follow the people when the light turned green at the zibra crossings. I saw with my own eyes that a golden retriever sit at the road side and wait for the cars to stop before crossing.

    2. Most Taiwan dogs are very friendly, playful mix very well with most dogs and never bite cats.
    Cats and dogs are friends.

    3. Taiwan's native dogs are the short coat, solid dogs colour vary from all black, spotted or brown. You call them they will respond to you very obedient " guai".

    4. Taiwan has a lot of working dogs. For the blinds and police.

Spotted doggy with collar. Government has very strict rules now about dog's ownership. Most dogs you see on Taipei street are all registered dogs as rightful pets.

Cute little furry animal with beady eyes. She is cute and tiny

Working dog. It is on duty at the moment and refuse to look at my camera.

The notice in front of it is to tell people it is working, do not play feed or touch it. It leads the way for the blind. I am not sure Malaysia has such working dogs or not.

Trained pets are allowed in most shops. As long as your pet won't pee/shit/ bite /damage anything. Your pet can go into shops. I read in the newspaper the other day, you can now bring your pet onto trains/ MRT . Not sure about bus yet.
